I got into a little bit of a mournful mood and this is what came of it. The poem is mine. The pictures are not.
Remember remember the second of May
When the students of Hogwarts were cast away
We mourn the death of many young, many old
But especially those who were fearless and bold
We saw the last laugh of dear Fred Weasley,
No more pictures to be taken by young Colin Creevey
Remus Lupin will never see his poor child grow
And neither will Tonks, who was lost to the blow.
It was too late to save dear Lavender Brown
Who was savaged while the trio went looking for the crown
And let us never forget the brave Half Blood Prince
Who whispered ‘Look at me,’ to see the green eyes of late Lily Evans.
So when we look back on today, with grief in our hearts
Remember they died for a new day, a new start
We will never forget those who were murdered in short
On the second of May, at the Battle of Hogwarts
